A year later, but we are off on a holiday of a lifetime!
Well almost exactly a year ago our long anticipated and planned for holiday was starting to crumble. My ruptured Achilles Tendon had started to get infected and I was just about to go into hospital for the first time for a course on intravenous anti-biotics. After the second hospitalisation and revisit to surgery, we realised that our holiday wouldn’t happen that year, but we would postpone it until the next year. That seemed like a long way off.
Well a year has now gone, and it is almost time to leave on our trip. We are off on Cathay Pacific to Rome via Hong Kong on Tuesday the 4th June 2013. How quickly the year has gone as well! Just a few more days and we are off on the trip of a lifetime.
We are really looking forward to it, after the last 6 months of planning and booking everything. I have started this blog to keep an online record of the trip as well as photos that I will share along the way (Internet connections permitting). Everyone invited along is welcome to comment.
The rough itinerary is as follows:
4th June – Fly to Rome and board Ruby Princess on Wednesday 5th June
5th June – 16 June – 12 day Greek Island Cruise on board Ruby Princess stopping almost daily in the following ports; Naples for Pompeii, Santorini, Kusadasi for Ephesus Turkey, Mykonos, Athens, Katakolon for Olympia, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Venice

27th June – 2nd July – Train to Nice then TGV to Lyon and the last 3 days in Paris before flying back via Hong Kong
Back in Brisbane on the 4th July.
